When my wife and I retired in 2006, we began looking to purchase or build our dream home. Every weekend we looked on-line, in newspapers, and in home books with negative results. When our friends wanted to look for homes in the Blairsville area, we came with them to drive them around since we were familiar with the area. After several trips to Blairsville, their realtor showed them a house which they immediately purchased. In talking with the realtor, we decided to purchase the lot next to them. The only problem was that we still hadnt found the plans for our dream home. After driving past the America's Home Place model in Blairsville several times, my wife asked to stop in and look at the model. Before we went inside, she said a prayer that this house would be the one. When we walked through the house, we knew her prayers had been answered. The house was everything she had ever dreamed of or wanted in a home. After revising the home plan to our specifications, the house was started in January 2007 and finished 90 days later! The crews employed by America's Home Place were remarkable. They came to work early and stayed late until the job was completed. We lived on site during most of the construction, so we knew what was going on. When we were not able to be there, we felt confident in leaving everything in the capable hands of our building superintendent. It was through his diligent efforts that construction went as smoothly as it did. He was always truthful with us and didnt try to sugarcoat any problems. If something wasnt on schedule, he was on the phone finding out why and getting things back on track. His meticulous attention to detail is incredible. We are very grateful to America's Home Place for making our building experience so wonderful.

After we purchased a parcel of land, I was shopping around for a builder for our new home. I visited several but did not feel comfortable with any of the builders I had met. We came across and ad in the newspaper for America's Home Place in Blairsville and set up a visit on the same day. Within the hour I knew this was the builder for us. After the plans and particulars were complete on paper, I met the construction superintendent. Right from the start he was very thorough and meticulous. I felt that he had my best interest in mind. He was on his way out somewhere with his wife and sacrificed his own time for the customer. That is true dedication and caring you dont find too often. The America's Home Place building experience has been a pleasant one. From the initial home selection process, to the color selection, to the actual construction, we always had the service you would hope for. Our building consultant was extremely helpful in home selection, customization, and dealing with the never-ending questions that came up. Trying to be mindful of cost, he helped us narrow our focus to find the house that was more in the range of what we could afford. He also helped us turn a house we liked into a house that was our house with the modifications and changes to personalize it. As one would hope, he had several suggestions to modify and adjust the house both to save money and to improve the actual build. He told us about things that would be affected by our choices and how to avoid some of the negatives that would have resulted. One of the best parts regarding our house would have been regarding the construction phase. You were all so efficient in lining up the sub-contract workers that there were no real periods of inactivity at the house. With a build time of only 2 months, you dont really have time for any delays. As far as any problems or imperfections, when we noticed things that were wrong or did not seem as they should have been, the superintendent in almost all cases had already noticed these things and when he hadnt was glad to take care of them. All in all, the home building experience has been a pleasant one. If we ever were to sell our house, we definitely would use America's Home Place again.
